Egon Schiele

I have been looking for relevant artist and designers and so far I after reading a lot of fine art books, I discovered the artist Egon Schiele. He is German artist and painter who paints amazing portraits still life paintings.
I thought his work was relevant to because of his use of colour and the technique with pencil and colour which I had been focusing on my project. His colour use is more subtle than the way I use colour, I have taken a lot of inspiration from this and started thinking of the way I use colour in my sketchbook. I think I have developed a colour palette.

. Tara Dougans.
I am a 26 year old Canadian-born, London-based art director and illustrator. My work is heavily influenced by the virtue of 'taking one's time' and focuses specifically on handcraftsmanship, the value of process and detail oriented design. Following my Grandmother's expression "You reap what you sow", I am interested in exploring the fundamental role that time plays in the development of an object or idea. Accordingly, my work is constructed with love by hand.
The abpve are her words not mine, I used them because they seem so sincere.

In the swing of things

So I have started taking pictures of random people /(I harassed this poor girl) I liked how she  adorned herself in bright neons and piercings. I am going to continue doing more harrasing/taking photgraphs of people who I find enthralling.

I had a eureka moment!

For the past few (4 weeks to be precise) I was utterly stuck which has never really happened to me before. I was listening to The Smiths to help me understand a path for my project when it dawned on me 'my quilt' and music! I liked how my quilt was very random and full of repetitive patterns, so I decided to merge togther the idea of the music and my quilt. I decided to to do some mark making based on elements of the smiths song lyrics and the marks found on my quilt. So far I have done a few pages of mark making in my sketchbook so watch this space for more.
